BARRA DA TIJUCA, Rio de Janeiro/Brazil (Sunday, May 13, 2012) – Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS), 21, has taken out the Billabong Women’s Rio Pro over Coco Ho (HAW), 21, by a score of 14.10 to 14.03 in peaky one-to-three foot (.5 metre) waves at the primary venue of Barra da Tijuca.
Sally Fitzgibbons is in the running for Pedestrian's Bachelorette of the year 2012.. Vote for Sally!

Not many people know but I can...
Held my breath for 4 min 40 seconds at my Red Bull free diving training.
At the moment I'm listening to...
Flo Rida, Gym Class Heroes, Carly Rae Jepsen, Beyonce, Eye of the Tiger by Survivor and Here I Am by The Bungalows
The craziest thing I've done for love is...
Having a boy I liked in primary school ask if he could borrow some money. I didn’t have any on me so I ran the 5 kms home to get some and got back to give it to him before the end of lunch. I was exhausted!!
The best advice I've ever received was...
Champions take chances and pressure is a privilege.
My weakness has always been...
Pumping waves, sporting events watching/playing, watching RomCom movies and chocolate cake.
You'll never catch me...
Sitting still for too long. I love doing a million things in one day and being really active.
My current goal is...
To become the ASP World Surfing Champion and have fun traveling the world achieving it.
The best way to impress me is...
To be yourself, make me laugh and like watching and playing sport ... or pretend to haha.

Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) defeated Sofia Mulanovich (PER) in the final of the ASP 6-Star rated Australian Open Of Surfing, both surfers posted decent scores, but Fitzgibbons timed her turns to perfection to take out the event "It's unbelievable!" Fitzgibbons said. "I was just focusing on working through my boards and going through some heats and before I know it I'm in the final. Sofia (Mulanovich) is such a tough competitor, I knew she'd be able to get the score needed, so it was a nervous wait at the end there. To win in front of this crowd, with so much support feels amazing! Then to have won the US Open and then the first ever Australian Open back to back is a special achievement."
